EXPERIENCES IN LEARNING LANGUAGE
After I shared with my friend about experiences in
learning language, most of us had been learning foreign language that is English
language. My friends argue that learning foreign language comes with
its own set of problems.
Besides, the words are unfamiliar to us, there is also a differentiation of
word and it’s spelling in foreign language.
Jane Ann (2012), in her work state that there are three problems in
learning language as foreign language; they are grammar, pronunciations and cultural differences.
Because learning foreign
language is very difficult, my friend and I use strategy in learning language. We
start our study from simple and familiar vocabulary or we organize our study through
many media. Those are dictionary, internet, pictures, practice with our friends
and share with our lecturers. After that,
we try to practice with others or a share with our lecturers. In
learning a language, we follow the advice that practice makes perfect, and
patience is a helpful virtue.
For long time we learn a
language, we aware that learning more than one language is very important. However,
this is a globalization era. Learning foreign enable us in using of technology,
improve our knowledge,
and job opportunities. Those
statements are supported by language is a great way to expand
knowledge and appreciation of a new culture, society and landscape. Second, learning of a second
language give an
opportunity to land a job overseas. Third, make us easy to travel around a word. Fourth,
people learn language to impress their friends. Finally, many people learning
language to explore their hobbies.
