The Comparison of Research
Proposal and Research Plan
Among the four language skills teach in schools, writing is the most
difficult skill to learn. It needs specialized skills that
include the ability to express the
opinions, the mastering of vocabulary and their coherence. For
those reason many researcher try new to make innovation in teaching wring
skill. For example Dewi Astuti from IBN KHALDUN UNIVERSITY that is written about the using of
picture to improve student’s ability in writing a descriptive paragraph. She tried to use pictures to make student
interesting in writing a descriptive text. Dewi Astuti collected the data by
asking the students to close their eyes as the teacher reads a
short passage for students to visualize. Students open their eyes without
talking, draw a picture using as much detail as possible, and add a few words
if necessary. Next, the teacher will read a well written descriptive passage
and students are to do the same exercise as above.
Just like Dewi Astuti, I am very interested to use pictures as a media to improve students' ability in writing. There are profound thing that will
differentiate Dewi Astuti proposal with my research plan. My research will be wider because
I do not only
emphasize to the
descriptive paragraph but the writing in general. For example be a receptionist. Each student
gets a picture that has been prepared. After that, the students will write a paragraph about the event
based on the picture.
This method will make
students have higher critical thinking and more creative. I do not take the descriptive paragraph because of several factors. First, the students do not learn about the
descriptive text every day. Second, students not only learn about a person,
place or thing. Finally, students will be difficult to improve
their ability
if the materials are limited.
After I read the APA referencing style, I get some
information:
